Revision history of UI-UNI and UI-CAVE firmware used with the various TaskLED Flex drivers.
V1.2 UI-CAVE released (5 July 2014). DualFLex driver ONLY
If the user configured Vlow to override the drive level (L1 - L4), then if the main beam is selected to flash voltage warnings, it will only flash the warning sequence for low 5 times. The reasoning is: if the user overrides to a lower drive level when the low warning occurs, the user is aware that the low has occurred (5 warnings and also the higher levels are no longer available) and does not want to have the main beam indefinitely warn of low voltage.
V1.1 UI-CAVE released (24 Jun 2014). DualFLex driver ONLY
First release of software
V2.1 UI-UNI4 released (15 Jan 2014). ALL flex drivers, b3Flex/h6Flex/lFlex/hbFlex/maxflex6.
Low voltage menu (#7) has a new option to set a Forced Level when the battery voltage goes below the user specified Low Voltage setting.
Multimode can be set to NOT flash the LED when trying to click higher than L5 (extra option within Menu #13).
b3Flex/H6Flex have a soft ramp to minimise initial current surge when turning on or changing to a higher level or operating in strobe mode. The soft ramp occurs over a period of 1 to 20 mseconds (depending on the intensity change step size) and is not visually perceptible.
V1.3 UI-UNI3 released (27 Jun 2012). Maxflex6 driver.
Update: The 1300mA current table has been removed from the maxflex6 firmware. There are now 5 current tables available to choose from and 1200mA is the maximum output current.
V1.4 UI-UNI3 released (20 Apr 2012). B3Flex driver.
Enhancement: Changed current regulation to use PWM below 500mA. 500mA and above is constant current regulated, below 500mA the firmware runs 400Hz PWM using 500mA current pulses of various duty cycle. This change is to improve the accuracy of the low current settings.
V1.3 UI-UNI3 released (18 Apr 2012). B3Flex driver.
Enhancement: Added 750mA current table to menu #2. The user can now choose from 7 current tables when using the B3Flex
V1.2 UI-UNI3 released (30 Mar 2012). All Flex drivers.
Bug Fix in menu #5. The bug was preventing the firmware from using the main LED(s) for Status warning display. Only the STAT LED would display correctly.
V1.1 UI-UNI3 released.
To determine the version of UI-UNI3 or UI-UNI4 or UI-CAVE firmware in use, enter the menu system and choose menu #10. Once in menu #10, press the switch until the first flash of the main LED occurs and count how many flashes occur consecutively (call this number X). There will then be a short delay (about 1 second) and then the main LED will flash again, count how many flashes occur consecutively (call this number Y). The main LED will then turn off.
The UI-UNI or UI-CAVE firmware version that is in use on the particular driver is X.Y
So, for V1.2 of the firmware you would expect to see this sequence:
Enter menu #10, main LED lights Dim
Press and hold the switch (this will exit menu #10 without performing a reset to default values).
The LED will flash, release the switch. Since only 1 flash occurred, X = 1
There will be a delay of approximately 1 second
The LED will flash 2 times. Since 2 flashes occurred, Y = 2
